There are several ways that you can help us rescue and place our HoosierDogs:
Foster: Bring a HoosierDog into your home, where he or she will learn to become part of a family. Sometimes this means teaching them about housebreaking, overcoming a weakness (such as shyness), or just giving love. This helps a dog learn to be a family member while he/she is looking for their permanent home. This usually entails bringing the dog to the PetSmart adoption time on Saturdays so they can look for a permanent home. Details can be worked out on an individual basis.
Adopt: Bring a HoosierDog into your life permanently! We've got plenty of good dogs who are looking for loving families to give share their lives with.
Donate: We've set up a pre-pay account at Combs Veterinary Clinic in Bloomington, Indiana, so that while HoosierDogs are waiting for their permanent homes, they can get the shots, wormings, spays, neuters, and vet care they need without putting the humans at HoosierDogs out of their own homes!!!! If you'd like to make a donation to HoosierDogs, please send a check made to Combs Veterinary Clinic for the amount you'd like to donate. Combs Vet Clinic's address is: 6349 W. SR 45, Bloomington, IN 47403. Please be sure to attach a note saying that the check is for Dee Durham's pre-pay account! HoosierDogs and I thank you for your kindness!
Educate: It is so important to spread the word about spaying and neutering our pets. Simply put, there are too many unwanted and uncared for animals out there to allow irresponsible breeding & unplanned litters. Please, spay and neuter your pet & spread the word. Many dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters every day - we've got to do our part to reduce the numbers.
